Pulitzer Prize-winning Chicago photojournalist John H. White will be giving a presentation of visuals and accompanying remarks at 3 p.m. Sept. 17 in the University Union Heritage Room. This session is open free to the public.

Tri States Public Radio Interview

Count Down to the 2009 Photo Walk

I was just reminded today that there are only nine more days left till the 2009 Photo Walk. I have placed a few flyers around town, posted on the WIU boards and emailed Tri State Public Radio and the Macomb Journal (although I have not received a reply back). Does anyone have an idea on other ways I could be promoting this event?

To try and get everyone pumped about the photo walk here is a YouTube video that was put together from last year’s photo walk in Hollywood Ca. It would be nice to have this range of subjects here in Macomb but I’m sure we will have plenty to work with.

Lightroom Preset Program

I just found out about this cool web application that will look at a flickr photo’s EXIF data, providing that it has not been stripped out, and turn it into a preset for Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw. This will not work for every photo but if you happen to see something you like on flickr it’s worth a try.

Alltop

I was recently reminded of a cool web service called Alltop. Basically you pick a topic and it will list the last five posts from a bunch of the top blogs/news outlets for that topic. For example I put in Photography and then Lightroom and got back a ton of information. By viewing the information in this format you can see trends which are happening on the web that you might not pick up on if you went to each site one at a time. So if you have some time to kill, check it out.
